I know, right. Sad. So so so sad.
That was my fear…an update dropping while I was gone. NE999 can get to the server but I’m not sure if he would figure out the update. Sorry Vlad.
Updated and back online. Thanks again for the heads up!
Hey! Thanks for stopping by to let me know. I will try and update it right now.
Well, now the update isn’t going to happen till next week, it sounds like.
If you want to log in and check it out.. connect to:
rust2.suckapunch.net:28016
From your Rust game hit F1
Then type in:client.connect rust2.suckapunch.net:28016
Just dont get too attached to this map as its just temporary while the hosted primary Rust server is up.
I might pester some of you folks to help me load test 7 Days to Die running from my home server tonight or this weekend at some point.
I am pretty confident I can run 7DTD, Rust and Minecraft all from the same machine at the same time. If I couldn’t run all 3 at the same time and I had to choose which of the three to keep as a hosted server, it would be Rust; simply because of cost.
What about Reign of Kings?
So, some decisions need to be made… and I think they need to be made this week.
Do we want to continue running a 7 Days to Die server?
Do we want to try running it from my home server with limited world border and a server password or whitelist? And, similar questions could be posed for Rust.
Do we want to continue running a Rust server?
Do we want to try running it from my home server?Take a pickaxe to your local craft store and start whacking the floor… you’ll starting mining crafts soon. Which you can then sell for bail money.
With the 3rd party admin tool, we can limit world size… if that’s what you mean. Someone that reaches the edge of whatever limit we put on the map, will get a message in chat saying they have reached the world border.
Like.
Added.
Or… we could just not bother, and play on other’s servers, too. We’ve tossed that idea around before with both 7 Days to Die AND Rust. What do we really get out of running our own servers? Control over when wipes happen? To a degree, I suppose. Though, that’s not really true with Rust. We wipe when the updates make us.
Minecraft is worlds beyond 7DTD in regards to options/sandbox/crafting. Most people can’t get past the graphical element of a blocky world.
I have a solar powered foundry for crafting and smelting my found ores. I’ll be working on transportation next. Horses are cool…but those jetpacks and motorboats sound like a good time.
And, Minecraft DOES have zombies… and a lot more dangerous monsters.
